The Carbon Zero Youth Initiative is launching to engage youth with the global effort to decarbonize the built environment and achieve carbon neutrality through education, exploration of related careers, and encouragement of carbon-conscious building decisions.

Through partnerships with youth programs and carbon-focused organizations, the CZYI will develop and openly distribute EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES that:​

• Identify carbon-conscious building strategies 

• Are compatible with existing youth programs 

• Facilitate engagement between AEC professionals and youth groups

• Encourage and support youth outreach to building decision-makers

Through collaboration with industry groups and sponsors, CZYI will establish a VOLUNTEER NETWORK of professionals passionate about reducing carbon emissions to:

• Engage with youth groups and classrooms 

• Provide experiential learning opportunities (site visits)

• Expand the reach of partner youth programs

• Guide youth outreach efforts
